BACKGROUND
World Class sells and installs residential shutters, blinds, shades, sunscreens and drapery quality products. They are family owned and Diamond Certified company for the last four years.

CHALLENGES
The clients, a husband and wife, worked with SBDC advisors to improve their financials (and their understanding of them) including Profit and Loss Statement, their pricing strategy, and estimating process. Marketing was another major area of improvement as the clients worked closely with our advisors to upgrade their web site and collateral.

ACTIONS
Clients and Lead Advisor, Gerald Sullivan, agreed on Scopes of Work and Action Plans to change P&L format, to develop specific direct costing formulas, increase profit expectations, separate overhead and direct costs and grow operations by hiring a new sales person.

RESULTS
World Class Window Coverings immediately improved gross profit margins, hired an outside sales person and the owners also delegated many routine office responsibilities to a part time employee.  Sales increased $134,28 over a 10-month period.
